Sycamore Youth Football & Cheer

2024 SYFC - Football and Cheer Registration

Welcome

Welcome to the 2024 SYFC - Football and Cheer Registration
Sycamore Youth Football & Cheer

NOTE:  IF YOU SIGN UP AFTER JUNE 30TH, PRICES WILL INCREASE BY $50.  This is for all programs!

There will be a HARD cutoff for all  CHEERLEADING registrations of June 30th and all FOOTBALL registrations of July 24th!

Families, we have a few exciting changes for this year.   Those are noted below.  As always, our football and cheer programs are direct feeders into Sycamore School District Football and Cheer.  Due to that reason and rental policies, YOU MUST RESIDE IN SYCAMORE SCHOOL DISTRICT BOUNDARIES TO PARTICIPATE IN SYFC!

Our football program will remain pretty much unchanged from last year (game times may change dependent on registration numbers).   Our cheer program will have a few changes, but still offer both sideline and competition cheer.  In order to do competition cheer, you must also do sideline cheer.

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.  Please read each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or checking account information available.  Following this registration, you will see a charge on your account from Sycamore Youth Football.

What’s Changing/What’s Staying The Same!

All - Raffle ticket payment will be collected with registration.  Raffle tickets will be distributed at the first practice. This is a $100 purchase, but as you sell the tickets, you keep the money since you’ve already paid for all of them.

If you or a spouse coached football or cheer for SYFC last year, please make sure that coach checks their email for a discount code (it is reducing the number of raffle tickets that you need to purchase).

Football-
Kindergarten  will be invited to our camp in July and then have about 2 weeks of practice and one game to finish their season.

1st-6th grade will be the same as last year

The plan is still for the high school players to ref our games (how fun!)

Cheer-
Cheer is for 1st - 8th grade.

New this year:
-We are eliminating the 1st/2nd grade competition level (they are still able to do sideline only).
-6th graders can now choose between Sideline or Competition with Sideline (previously they could only do Competition with Sideline)
- The 2024 Season will be the LAST season for SYFC having a 7th/8th grade cheer program.

Outside of the above, cheerleaders can sign up for sideline cheer or both sideline and competition.  As you are going through registration, if you choose either Sideline Only Cheer or Competition and Sideline Cheer, there will be another form to electronically sign before checking out that goes over some of the other requirements for cheer.

7th-8th grade cheerleaders MUST register for sideline and competition cheer.   The current plan is for them to sideline cheer at home games for the middle school team.

The plan is for the h.s. cheer team to run the cheer camp in July (whew hoo!  Love seeing kids giving back).

Preliminary Schedule:
Camp (football and cheer) - July 22-24
Football practices start the week of August 5th (current plan is the same as last year Monday/Wednesday will be Kinder, 1st/2nd grade and 3rd/4th grade.  Tuesday/Thursday will be 5th grade/6th grade.   This is subject to change based on our final registration numbers).
Sideline Cheer practices start July 30th and will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Competition Cheer practices start July 31st and will be on Wednesdays
Games start August 17th.  They will be on Saturdays and start times will vary from noon to probably 3:00 p.m. (depending on how many football teams). There will be six weeks of games and we will have Labor Day Weekend off.  Currently the plan is for 5th/6th grade football to have an additional week of games at the end of the season for playoff.  Kinder flag, we are still trying to figure out when that game will be.  Middle School cheer, your games will probably be on  Tuesdays and/or Thursdays (depends on final Middle School Football schedule).

Payments-

All levels of football and cheer have an option for payment in full or a payment plan (for payment plan, you must register prior to May 15th.  1/3 is due at the time of registration.  Then on June 1st and July 1st, you will have equal payments. These payments will be automatic from your card or checking account that you register with.

Kindergarten Flag:  $30 registration fee.  There is not a payment plan at this level

1st-6th Flag: $100 registration fee AND $100 in prepaid raffle tickets.  Paid in full for $200. Payment plan is $67 due at registration and then $66 on June 1st and $66 on July 1st.

Deposit Checks for volunteering/uniforms: All participants must provide a $100 volunteer deposit (per family)at the beginning of the season. Once volunteering is completed, the check will be returned or destroyed.  Coaches and board members are exempt from turning in deposit checks.  Last year, we didn’t deposit a single volunteer check!

Cheerleaders will need to turn in a $150 deposit check prior to a uniform being issued.  This deposit is for the uniform.  Once the uniform is turned in at the end of the season, this check will be returned or destroyed. Please note - this is not a fee to just keep the uniform.  The purpose is to pay for lost or destroyed uniforms.  We do not want anyone simply keeping their uniform.  When we replace uniforms, we have to pay shipping and also place orders in multiples of six.

PARENTS - Please consider volunteering to be a coach!! We will provide the training, the equipment, the practice dates/times/locations, playbooks, etc.  We are a 100% volunteer organization and if we don’t have enough volunteer coaches, we’ll have no choice but to eliminate teams/players (and none of us want that).

IMPORTANT! : - If you are offered “registration insurance” at the end of this registration, we strongly suggest that you don’t purchase it.  With our refund policy, the insurance isn’t really giving you anything (our refund policy is covered later in the registration).
